FSV Song #18: CE N'EST QU'UN AU REVOIR (French "Auld Lang Syne")

CE N’EST QU’UN AU REVOIR is the French version of the traditional New Year’s song “Auld Lang Syne”. Originally a Scottish song, over the centuries Auld Lang Syne gained popularity as a New Year’s celebration song in the anglophone (English speaking) world.

The French version was first made by Jacques Sevin, one of the cofounders of les Scouts de France (The Scouts of France) in 1920. Today, there are several translated versions sung in France. (The video we chose was of the most popular version sung by Tilde, a French singer, on a balcony during the corona virus lockdown.)
